At Allen Brothers Mortuary, we know that the men and women who served in our Armed Forces, protecting our country, deserve our unsurpassed gratitude. Allen Brothers will always request a Presidential Memorial Certificate and a U. S. Flag specifically provided for funerals for every Veteran we have the honor to serve.
Our complimentary online Memorial Tribute offers families military themed images and music to additionally honor your veterans for their service.
Special military services are available to all honorably discharged veterans and it will be our privilege to honor your loved one. The rendering of Military Funeral Honors is a way to show the nation's deep gratitude to those who, in times of war and peace, have faithfully defended our country. This ceremonial paying of respect is the final demonstration a grateful nation can provide to the veteran's family.
Military Funeral Honors can be provided at any site, whether for a traditional or memorial service at our chapels or a church, a public or private cemetery, or at a national cemetery.
Military Funeral Honors will include:
- A minimum of two military personnel, with at least one of them being from the veteran's branch of service.
- The playing of taps, by a bugler when available, or by an electronic recording.
- In addition to the above, with the family's permission, Allen Brothers will always request Full Military Honors.
When available, Full Military Honors may include:
- Military pallbearers
- Rifle squad
- Live bugler
If the veteran was a member of a local VFW, American Legion, or other local military organization, Allen Brothers will be proud to contact them, at the family's request, to arrange participation in the funeral services.
Burial in a national cemetery is an option for all honorably discharged veterans and their eligible family members, which may include a spouse and minor dependent children. Allen Brothers will process the paperwork for a burial in any national cemetery, whether it is for a casket or an urn.
There are 147 national cemeteries throughout the United States and overseas. National cemeteries provide ONLY burial space, government grave liner, and government headstone at no cost. Funeral services, merchandise, and cash advance fees are generally not covered by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
