Albert McBride Obituary

Albert Andrew (Andy) McBride, 77, passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his home, and in the company of his family.  He was born in Maywood California on July 3, 1941 to Albert and Marian Hooker. Andy grew up in Santa Monica with his two brothers, Tom and Chris. After high school, he served his country in the Navy.  While spending some time with a friend in Wisconsin, he was introduced to the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Later, in January 1967, while reading Romans 5:6 he realized the fact that “Christ died for the ungodly” was “All true” and his life was changed forever.

In 1971 he married Jean Alice Clark and they settled in Willmar Minnesota where they raised four children. Andy moved his family back to the San Diego California area in 1991 where he owned and operated a pool service and repair business for over twenty years. He loved to sing and had a heart for helping others. He often shared the gospel message that was so dear to him.

Andy is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, Tom Hooker. He is survived by his sister-in-law Marie Hooker, brother Chris (Evelyn Rudie) DeCarlo,  wife Jean, daughter Katheryn (Jonathan) Ruppenkamp, son Stephen (Jennifer), daughter Kristyn (Kenneth) Baker, daughter Rachel Cumming, eighteen grandchildren; Megan McBride, Skylar King, Catherine McBride, William McBride, Isabelle McBride, Emma McBride, Samuel McBride, Gideon McBride, Mercy McBride, Jackson McBride, Emily Baker, Collin Baker, Cecily Baker, Ian Baker, Alaina Baker, Joshua Baker, Connor Cumming,  Anna Cumming,  nephew Kevin Hooker and niece Corie Hooker.
