God saw him getting tired

When a cure was not to be,

So he put his arms around him

And whispered, “Come with Me.”

So when we saw him sleeping

So peacefully free from pain,

We could not wish him back

With us to suffer that again.

His heart of gold stopped beating

His caring soul found rest

God took him home to prove to us

He always knows what’s best.
