Debra Bernath, 61, died peacefully with family at her side Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Palomar Hospital in Escondido, California.
Debbie was born on January 28, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio to Maureen Lee and David Myer. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from National University in 1983 and carried out a very successful career working 17 years at Hughes Aircraft and 18 years at Nordson ASYMTEK. She married Steven Bernath on July 16, 1988 in Encinitas, California, at the Church of Awareness, and together they’ve raised one son, Chris. Debbie loved her family and friends deeply and lived life to the fullest. She especially enjoyed trips to the desert, spending time with family and friends, and traveling more broadly.
Debbie was a remarkable person: vibrant, funny, intelligent, and always a good friend. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew her. She is survived by her husband and son. A private celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 1st.
