Janice Darlene Wade was born to the late Marrion Jean McClarrin in Knoxville, TN on January 4, 1951. She received her education in the public schools of St. Petersburg, FL and Asheville, NC. She accepted Christ as a child attending church with her grandmother, an ordained minister in the Penacostal church, and served in various ministries.
She later attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC where she majored in Sociology. It was there that she met the love of her life, Walter Shropshire, and they later united in Holy Matrimony on January 9, 1971. Through this union three (3) beautiful daughters were born: Allyson Lachone, Kristal Lynnette and Laura Danielle-Jean.
She worked in the home mortgage industry for over forty (40) years as a loan officer, escrow coordinator and purchaser for several home builders and financial institutions. Most recently, she worked at Wells Fargo before retiring in November 2018.
Janice was a faithful servant of the Lord at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Orlando, FL. Before relocating to San Diego, CA she became a Charter member of the New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando. For the past twenty-seven (27) years, Janice served at several churches in the San Diego area including Bayview Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, Blessed Trinity Christian Ministries and for more than a decade at Mesa View Baptist Church. Her love of God was shown through her dedication as a Sunday School and Bible Study Teacher, Teen Ministry Leader, Deaconess, Choir Member, and Welcome Ministry Member.
She leaves to uphold her values and beliefs her husband of 48 years, Walter Shropshire; her children Allyson Shropshire, Kristal Shropshire, Laura Cole (Wade); granddaughters Morgan Elise Cole and Sydney Madison Cole; brother Maurice McClarrin; brother-in-law Ellison McKnight, Jr. (Lori); sister-in-law Denise Shropshire and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
