John Allen Middleton

It is with great sadness that the family of John Allen Middleton announces his passing after a brief illness on January 11, 2020.  He was 80-years old.

John was born on January 13, 1939 to parents John and Harriett Middleton and raised in the small town of Castro Valley, CA.  John attended Hayward High school and over time he became known for his friendly and gregarious personality, while developing a passion for fixing up cars and racing with his friends at Fremont Dragstrip and other venues on the west coast.  His knowledge of automobiles served him well as a mechanic in the U.S. Army, and it was during this time that he met his future wife of 56 years while he was stationed in Korea.  Upon his return to the States, John established a successful career in the automotive industry while raising a family with his wife.  John and his family spent many weekends and summers in the Sacramento Delta, where John championed the “Rip Off Resort” and embodied the importance of family and friendship and showed that if you do the things you love with the people you care about your life will be filled with happiness.  John moved to North County, San Diego with his wife to be closer to his extended family in the Fall of 2018.  

John is survived by his wife, Cindy and their two sons, Scott and Michael, his sister Janet, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
