In Loving Memory
Joseph Gervasi passed in peace on Sunday afternoon October 21st at the young age of 102. Born September 11, 1916 in Goshen, Ohio to parents Guiseppi and Philomena Gervasi. He is sibling to six sisters Mary, Emma, Clara, Lena, Josephine, Irene and brother John. Joe was husband to Dorothy Gervasi and loving father to Karen Sue Gervasi. He is survived by his sister Irene Francis, nieces, nephews and friends. Joe served in Word War ll from 1942 to 1945 as a radio operator. Was a proud soldier in the 7th Armored Division that faced battles in Northern France, Germany, Belgium and Central Europe. He earned an EAME Campaign medal with four bronze battle stars issued by President Franklin Roosevelt. He also earned a good conduct medal along with a Purple Heart issued after a battle in Holland 1944. After the war he, his brother John and their wives moved to California. Joe retired from North American Aviation. He built a home with his family in Vista, California where they lived for over thirty years. Faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. A kind hearted man esteemed by his friends and family.
There will be a funeral mass for him at 11am on Wednesday October, 31 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church address 525 W. Vista Way Vista, CA 92083
