Margaret J. (Peggy) Treat passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 at her home in San Marcos, CA. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charles Forsman, her sister Kathy, and sisters-in-law Irene, Lynne, and Ann. She is predeceased by her parents Wayland and Stella Hamilton Treat.
Peggy was born February 13, 1936 in Buffalo, NY. After High School she graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Nursing and the U.S. Naval Officers Training School in Newport, RI. She was commissioned in April 1959 and released from active duty in 1962. She later served in the Naval Reserve. Her service duty included the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. and the U.S. Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton, CA. Peggy also received her M.S. degree and studied for her PhD.
As a Nursing Administrator Peggy's career included hospitals in San Diego, Burlingame, Berkley, and San Francisco, CA., and Klamath Falls, OR. She retired in 1999 as Nursing Director and Bioethics Consultant from Kaiser Permanente Zion Hospital in San Diego.
Peggy enjoyed traveling across the U.S. with Charles in their motorhome and making beaded jewelry. She loved animals and had been a volunteer at the Escondido Humane Society shelter. Recently she was a volunteer for Love On A Leash. Most weekdays she and Khya were bringing smiles to school children and seniors
Peggy will long be remembered for her compassion for others.
