Tony R. Migaiolo of Vista, California, passed away August 31, 2018 at his home after an extended illness. He was born September 27, 1935, in Fairmont, WV, to the late Raffele and Barbara Migaiolo.
He is survived by his brother Joseph Migaiolo (Judith) of Morgantown, WV, sister-in-law Marlene Migaiolo of Riverside, CA, along with step-daughters Gwen Bryson and Theresa Annis. In addition, he had nieces Julie Ridge, Sandy Rose, Kim Jett, Barbara Thomas, along with nephews James Migaiolo Jr., Frank J. Migaiolo, John Migaiolo, and Joseph R. Migaiolo as well as many cousins.
Preceding him in death are his wife Eleanor Mankin Migaiolo who passed in 1995 and his older brothers James Migaiolo who passed in 2017 and Frank Migaiolo who passed in 2000.
After graduating from Barrackville High School, he was awarded a basketball sports scholarship from Western Carolina where he obtained his degree in education. He served in the US Army and settled in southern CA before moving to Vista, CA. He taught in the Oceanside School District for 30 years.
Tony was an avid sportsman. He played for the Chicago Cubs and the minor league Ponca City Cubs. Additionally, He played competitive golf, basketball and bowling. Some of his hobbies included traveling, reading, and researching how people perceive and relate to their environments. He was Catholic by Faith.
He requested cremation with his ashes being laid to rest at the San Luis Rey Mission Cemetery next to his beloved wife, Eleanor.
