Obituary

Stevanato (Zus), Adelia

Adelia Stevanato, age 92, from San Marcos, California, formerly from Chicago Hts and Roseland, Illinois and Caviola, Italy, died peacefully on Jan. 13, 2023.
Daughter of the late Fortunato and Carlotta Fenti of Caviola, Italy. Wife of the late Virgilio Stevanato and the late Raffaele Zus.
Loving mother of Flori (Michael) Smith, Marzia (Robert) Sparling, the late Daniel (Deborah) Zus, Diane (John) Kuzera, Robert Stevanato, and Sandra (Victor) Caloca. Loving grandmother of 8, great grandmother of 9 and 1 great-great grandchild. Sister of the late Riccardo, Rosie and Gianni Fenti.
Before moving to the U.S with her first husband Raffaele, she survived WWII when the Germans burned down her town in Italy. Adelia was a very talented seamstress who made quite a few clothes for the family and others and even made her daughters’ wedding dresses. She was proud of the fact that she taught herself to read English after moving to the United States. She loved reading, dancing, playing cards, and cooking wonderful Italian dishes. She also was the co-owner/bookkeeper, with her husband Virgilio, of the family business for many years. She was an active member of the local Italian club.
