Altagracia Ragonesi Obituary

Altagracia Avila Ragonesi, 90, passed away Christmas, December 25, 2022, peacefully in her sleep at her home in San Marcos, California, with her immediate family with her, after bravely battling myelofibrosis, bone marrow cancer for the past year.

Altagracia “Grace”, was born on September 16, 1932 in San Diego, California.  The oldest daughter of five kids, she took care of her siblings while her parents worked. She was the glue that held her family together, always there to take care of someone especially at the end for her Mother, brother and brother-in-law. She later finished her high school diploma as an adult, as well as, earning two college degrees in Business and Management.  She had a long career in the electronics and the aerospace industry, working alongside engineers for General Dynamics, Union Carbide, Linkabit, and Hughes Aircraft.  She raised her daughter as a single parent.

In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening in her big yard, taking care of her Pomeranian dog, and pet Cockatiel.  She also, enjoyed volunteering and was an avid reader.  She particularly enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren.  She also belonged to the Library Foundation, Sons of Italy and the Lake San Marcos Women’s Republican Club.  During her illness she enjoyed the hospitality and friendship at the San Marcos and Vista Senior Centers, playing Bingo, crafting, eating lunch and socializing.

She was an uncommonly strong, bright, and loving, compassionate and will be loved and missed by her family, friends and former co-workers.

She is survived by her daughter, Bianca Lasche, son-in-law, Loren Lasche, grandchildren, Arianna Lasche and Bryan Lasche, Sisters, Amy Villalobos, Angelina Avila, Alice Cornejo and nieces and nephews.
