Barbara Allen Gilbertson

Barbara Gilbertson died on April 26, 2023 after an eight month battle with small cell carcinoma. Her husband, Frank, and her son, Raymond, held her hands as she passed. Her daughter, Jordan, and son in law, Noel, were there in spirit.

Barbara was an orphan from Missouri. She moved to California in the mid 1970s and soon after met Frank. Together they had two children, built a successful business, and traveled at every opportunity. 

Barbara had an adventurous spirit, generous nature, and a sunny smile. People gravitated toward her. From Australia to Connecticut, Missouri to her home in Encinitas, California, she made friends wherever she went.

Barbara loved the beach, camping, reading, dogs, and live music. For the last 12 years her favorite thing was her grandchildren, Annabelle and Lucas. Nightly stories, tea parties, hikes, and endless ice cream always brought a smile to her face. 

Barbara loved and was loved. She will be missed everyday by all those that knew her.
