A Life Well Celebrated
On October 1, 2023, Constancio "Jun" Paranal Jr. smiled one last bright smile at his family who held him tightly beside before he peacefully joined our creator. Inside the room, the Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun" was playing softly, while outside the sun was at its brightest. At 3:17 pm, He transcended this world into paradise. He was 74.
Jun is celebrated by many for his life of learning and service: Three engineering degrees, an MBA, and pursued Doctoral degrees in Engineering, Law, and Education. He believed in the power of knowledge to drive change and he applied his skills to remarkable projects, including building the first elevated freeway in the Philippines, The Skyway.
However, his true passion lay in mentorship and education. He served as a college professor and even Dean of the Engineering school, eventually earning recognition as one of the ten Most Outstanding Alumni of his University. His success was a result of the relentless hard work, determination, and passion.
But what his family remembers him most for are his generosity, steadfast, love, and formidable spirit. He was undaunted in life and made sacrificed for them. Jun is his family's North Star, and from above, he will continue to provide them direction and guidance like he always has.
Jun is survived by his one true love - The jewel in his crown and heart - Mila with whom he shared 49 incredible years of adventure, together with their four wonderful children and their families: Mary Ann and Bernard and their three daughters Reese, Charlize and Breanne; Mark and Brandon; Maricris and Gio, and their children Brooke and Maia; and His youngest Son Michael.
