In Loving Memory of Consuelo “Conni” D. Segura
1941 – 2026
Consuelo D. Segura, known affectionately as Conni to all who loved her, passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2026, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by the ones that loved her.
Born in 1941 in South Gate, California, Conni was a woman of intellect, creativity, and remarkable strength. A proud graduate of St. Mary’s Academy and El Camino College, she spent her career in retail management for Gemco and Williams-Sonoma. Conni was also a courageous breast cancer survivor, a testament to the resilience and grace she carried through every chapter of her life.
Conni lived a life that beautifully reflected the meaning of her name: she was a constant source of "consuelo"—comfort and solace. To Conni, no one was ever a stranger. She had a magnetic gift for connection; she was the kind of woman who could strike up a conversation at a train station and turn a chance encounter into a lifelong friendship. She moved through the world with an open heart, making people feel valued within minutes of meeting her.
A true artist, she found peace in portrait painting and possessed an insatiable curiosity for the world. She loved traveling, shopping, and immersing herself in historical, nature, and art programs. Whether she was exploring a new city or planning her next adventure, Conni embraced life with an elegant enthusiasm. Above all, her greatest masterpieces were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Conni’s love and light live on through her children:
Jeff Taylor (Molly), Kimberly Bayne, Frances Davis, Vincent Eppstein, and Deana Chavez (Daniel).
She is also survived by her beloved siblings:
Her brother, Paul Segura, and family; and her sister, Anne Sailors (Gary), and family.
She was the proud grandmother of:
Sierra (Jesse) Hernandez, Heather Foster, Sterling Bayne, Keaton (Stephanie) Bayne, Courtney (Derek) White, Nicholas (Cassie) Pello, Quinlan McKinney, Nicole Taylor, Garrett Taylor, and Brandon Labaer.
Her legacy continues through her 20 great-grandchildren:
Luna Bella, Estrella Mia, Sol'Reyna, Celestial, Eclipseana, Novannie, Rayden, Cameron, Anna, Reagon, Ryan, Oliva, Lainey Rose, Kali, Lila, Nina, Colin, Lexi, Alexi, and Delilah.
Conni was reunited in heaven with her parents, Paul E. and Consuelo (Montreal) Segura, and her beloved "doggy grandchild," Peanut.
