Danny Ledbetter Obituary

Danny Dale Ledbetter of Lake Elsinore, California, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2020 in Carlsbad, California.  He was born on November 8, 1951 in Dallas, Texas to Myrtle Lou Houston and Marrion Lafayette Ledbetter.  He married Myong Suk Ledbetter on September 2, 1975 in Seoul, South Korea and they were together nearly 45 years.  A Vietnam veteran, Danny enjoyed a decorated military career, retiring from the US Army after 23 years in air traffic control.  During his time in the Army, he earned the National Defense Service Medal with star, the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation with Palm, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Bars, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Science from Coleman College in San Diego, California.  After retiring from the Army, Danny worked for the US Department of Veterans Affairs for 16 years. He was an Inventory Management Specialist when he retired in 2020.  He left behind a legacy of service and commitment to the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.  In his free time, he enjoyed reading, watching movies, listening to music, fishing, bowling, gardening, spending time with family and helping others.  He had a great sense of humor, was caring, and always put others first.  He was a gentle soul and will be greatly missed.  Danny is survived by his spouse Myong Suk Ledbetter of Lake Elsinore, California, daughters Cheryl Anne Ledbetter (Nicholas Sindelar) of Maple Valley, Washington, Sheri Lee Roe (Anthony) of Sherwood, Oregon, brothers Earl Boyd Ledbetter (Jan) of Ventura, California, Philbert Ray Miller (Vicki) of Gig Harbor, Washington, Wesley Ledbetter (Laurie) of Sharpsburg, Georgia, sister Marrion Carden (Larry) of Azle, Texas, nieces Krista Falk (Peter), Shannon Miller, Angela Benson, Mallory Palmer (Taylor), nephews Joshua Ledbetter (Emma), James Hull (Stephanie), Nicholas Carden (Sara), Matthew Carden (Jenna), and granddaughters Abigail April Roe and Imogen Harper Roe.
