Dennis Edmund Worsley

     Dennis Edmund Worsley, 81, of San Marcos, California, passed away at home unexpectedly on July 4th, 2022. He was a kind and loving spouse to his wife, Carolyn Worsley who predeceased him and loving father to his three children, Dennis, Debbie and Christy. Dennis also leaves behind four grandchildren, Joshua, Jack, Kendra and Hudson as well as his sister, Dalelyne Siwik. 

     Dennis graduated from San Diego State University after serving as a helicopter pilot in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam conflict and went on to become a senior leader at Pacific Bell, AT&T as well as working for several other companies, including Qualcomm, before his full retirement. He loved spending time with his horse Dr. Brown, especially during his many trips to the R-Ranch in the Sequoias, enjoyed golfing with his close golf friends, especially the time spent at the 19th hole and volunteering as a Marshal at local professional golf tournaments and at the Admiral Baker Golf Course.

    Dennis was most passionate about spending time with his family and always wholeheartedly welcoming to the extended network of family and family friends who visited from near and far. He was fondly referred to as “Grandpa Hickory Bob Worsley” to many friends visiting at the R-Ranch.

    One of Dennis’ proudest accomplishments was being a father and grandfather, he was very active in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives including being coach of any sport they were playing. He was always there for them through their challenges, taught them to work hard, reach for your dreams and to always enjoy every moment life has to offer.

    The family is holding a graveside funeral on Monday August 1st, 2022 at 11:00am at the San Marcos Cemetery followed by a reception at the Worsley house.  In lieu of flowers, the family  would be honored by a gift to one of Dennis’ favorite charities - St. Judes Hospitals (at https://www.stjude.org/donate) or Wounded Warrior Project (at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/).
