Diane Ellen Filice, 71, of Vista, CA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 8, 2023 in her Vista home. Visitation will be June 18 2023 at Allen Brothers Mortuary, San Marcos, CA from 2PM to 5PM. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Monday June 19, 2023 at Saint Elizabeth of Seton Catholic Church, Carlsbad, CA.
Diane was born in Portland, Oregon to Dean and Joane Blair on April 10,1952. She moved to California with her family of seven at a very young age. She received her BS and Masters Degrees in MicroBiology from UC Davis. She went on to receive her Teaching Credential from National University and her Masters in Education from Sacramento State University. She married Peter Filice on August 24, 1974 in Santa Clara, CA. She worked as a Medical Technician at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento for 10 years. Later she worked as an Elementary School Teacher in the Eureka Unified School District in Granite Bay, CA. She also worked in Curriculum and was in charge of the Resource Center for the District. She worked for the District for a total of 25 years before retiring. She was in charge of the Nature Bowl Team at Eureka Unified and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an Altruistic Sorority of Teachers.
Diane’s joy and passion was her family, from San Diego to Central California to Northern California and even New Hampshire and Canada. She loved doing for all. Swim parties for her children and grandchildren were some of her favorite things to do. She never missed a family or friends birthday without a phone call and/or a card. She will be sorely missed and always thought of deep in our hearts. Diane is preceded in death by Dean and Joane Blair, Father and Mother. Diane is survived by Peter, Loving Husband; Beloved Children Michael and Matthew; Carolyn, Mary, Steve and Dave, her cherished siblings; and her adorable Grandchildren Bailey, Katie, Tate, Zoe and Wyatt and so so many good friends whose lives she touched.
Pallbearers will be Michael, Matthew, and Tate Filice, David Haghighi, Steve and Dave Blair, Tony and Sam Prada.
Jesus please give us peace and take good care of her in Heaven.
