Elberta Helen Taylor (Betsy) passed away surrounded by family on her journey to heaven on September 17th, 2023. Betsy was born to John & Elberta Means in Gardena, Ca on May 3rd, 1936. She lived a life full of service and love for her family and community. She leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Frank Sr., and two cherished sons, Frank Jr. and Steve, along with her loving brother John (Pauline) Means. Betsy was preceded in death by her brother George (Nadine) Means and her parents John & Elberta Means.
Betsy was a full-time homemaker, and later spent years as a dedicated Realtor in Vista California. She was a wonderful cook and an avid tennis player at El Camino Country Club in Oceanside Ca. She built many lasting friendships there and her love for the game of tennis was only rivaled by her commitment to her social groups and friends. She enjoyed many trips over the years to the BNP Tennis tournament in Indian Wells with a close knit group of friends.
Betsy enjoyed many different sports, but especially loved watching the San Diego Padres games whenever she could. She was a kind, thoughtful, generous, and strong-willed woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness, love, and dedication.
Betsy is survived by her husband Frank Sr., along with her son’s Frank (Morii) and Steve. She leaves behind six grandchildren, along with many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Betsy was involved in many fundraisers over the years to support cancer research. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to UCSD Cancer research at “giveto.ucsd.edu” or call 858-534-1610.
A graveside service will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside Ca. on Sept 29th, 2023 at 12pm. Reception immediately to follow, at El Camino Country Club at 1pm.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all.
