Franklin Delano Shubert named after the US President of WWII Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Born January 30,1941 and died September 18, 2022. The third son of Mrs. Clemie Shubert and Mr. Edward J Shubert. The Shubert boys were raised by their single mom Clemie Shubert and grew up in Bellflower California. Frank Graduated from Paramount high school, after graduation Frank got a scholarship to go to collage and play baseball and football at California Western University. Frank was a very good athlete and lettered varsity in football and baseball. Frank led the N.A.I.A nationally in strikeouts more than anyone in the small college level for two years. Frank was noticed and signed professionally to the L.A Angels in 1961. Frank played Pro-AAA baseball in Iowa for three years. He eventually threw out the muscles in the right arm and that finished his professional baseball career.
He returned to L.A and got a job at Black & Decker. While there he met then and happily married his wife, Connie. Frank was a member and competitive fisherman of the Golden State Bass Masters Fisherman’s Club. They married on Lake Mead in a group of the Bass Masters around with Frank, Connie, and the Minister. They lived in Bellflower California before retiring and moving to San Marcos California. Frank played golf here at the Lake San Marcos Golf Course and was a member of the golf club. After a few years Frank became the golf clubs’ “Pro” leader. Frank gave free lessons on golfing and played in competitions for the for the Lake San Marcos Golf Club. Frank and Connie Founded and sponsored the annual “Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund” golf tourney for the Marines, at Christmas time for seven years the Marines families and their children had a fun filled Christmas. Their “Salute to Our Heroes” program showed Frank and Connie’s dedication, they became famous with the Marines of Camp Pendleton.
Frank is survived by his wife Connie, his daughter Jennifer and husband Rob from Oklahoma. Frank’s only remaining brother and his wife Cecilia, nephews, and spouses.
