Gerald Abell, a third-generation native of San Diego, died on October 13, 2025. Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly seventy-three years, Myrna Kleman Abell, and their children Jeffrey (Betsy) Abell, Cynthia Ann Abell, and David (Jeannie) Abell. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jessica (Todd) Huston, Ashley (Mikal) Powers, Mandy (Trevor) Daigle, Joshua (Kalli) Abell, Jeremy (Rachel) Abell, Austin Abell-Shepard, Justin Abell Shepard, and eleven great grandchildren. Jerry retired from the San Diego Gas & Electric Company in 1994 after 39 years of service. As
well as enjoying his family, after retirement Jerry and his wife traveled to Europe, Canada, Mexico, numerous National Parks and enjoyed numerous trips to the Hawaiin Islands. Jerry had
fun with his yearly vegetable garden for many years. In recent years, Jerry & Myrna also raised over 350 Monarch Butterflies.
