Iris Anna Wardell

Iris Anna Wardell of San Marcos, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2020 at the age of 85 in Encinitas, California.  She was born on February 13, 1935 in Welland, Ontario Canada to parents Robert and Nellie Colley.  On September 24, 1960 she married her beloved husband Ronald S. Wardell, and they began a beautiful life together just shy of 60 years.  Iris loved singing, spending time with her family, writing poems, socializing with friends and traveling.  She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, nana(16 grandchildren) one great grandchild with two more great grandchildren on the way. She loved to sing write poems, greeted everyone with a hug and for having the ability to always make people laugh and feel comfortable around her.  She is survived by her husband Ron of San Marcos, California, daughter Susan (Ken) Terzes of Encinitas, California, daughter Kelly (Robert) Motis of Las Vegas, Nevada, son Tom (Sharon) Wardell of La Mesa, California, daughter Kathy (Ned) Heiskell of San Marcos, California, daughter Tisi (Wayne) Whitko of Lake Forest, California, and grandchildren Kevin, Matthew and Joey Terzes, Kelsey (granddaughter) and Max Moubarek, Courtney (granddaughter) and Zach Barnhorst and Wilder (great grandson), Cassidy (granddaughter) and Brian Burns, Kyle Motis, Dana (granddaughter) and Andrew Kasmedo, Anna and Erica Wardell, Kaitlyn, Abby and Max Heiskell, Madeline (granddaughter) and Philip DeLuca, and Hutch and Sydney Whitko.  In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's San Diego by visiting the link under the "Donations" tab below.
