Joseph Galano Bassig, 51, of Vista, California departed this life July 3, 2023. Joseph was born March 4, 1972, in Manila Philippines to the late Bernardo & Avelina Bassig. Joseph worked for Madison Convalescent Center in El Cajon, CA as a
CNA, dietary aide, and activities coordinator. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy as an aviation support equipment technician. He then obtained his associate's degree and received his pharmacy technician license and worked for La Jolla Veterans Association hospital as a pharmacy technician.
Joseph loved to work with his hands. In college, he took architecture and his creativity and passion from creating a blueprint to building the idea came to fruition. He built many structural artwork models from buildings, homes, train stations, to a playground set and a structural fence. He enjoyed building many different assembly lego sets with his nephews and niece from helicopters to vehicles and buildings. He enjoyed watching wrestling shows, the Los Angeles Lakers basketball games and San Francisco 49ers football games. He loved the company of family and friends, cooking, going to the beach and fishing.
Joseph leaves a legacy of beautiful memories to be cherished by his two brothers, Fernando Bassig of Vista, CA. Mike Bassig of Riverside, CA. Two sister-in-laws, Rustica Bassig of Vista, CA and Shiela Bassig of Riverside, CA. One sister, Agnes Bassig Dominguez of Vista, CA. One brother-in-law, Tony Dominguez of San Francisco, CA. Two nephews, Gabriel and Rafael Bassig and One niece, Michaella Bassig and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
