Jacqueline (Jacque) Marie (Cunningham) De Costa
Jacque was born on March 13th, 1960 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She went to the Lord on July 8th 2022 in Oceanside, California where she lived since 2002. She was the daughter of Thomas and Ruthe Cunningham, and the third of five children. She grew up in Lompoc California where she met her husband William (Bill) De Costa. In 1980 at the age of 20 she married Bill and they lived in Lompoc, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, and settled in Oceanside, California.
Jacque left work to raise her children until the youngest was able to drive. Jacque believed in service and volunteered at her children’s schools doing classroom work in the early grades and then supporting the water polo and swim teams as well as band & pageantry in many capacities over two decades. She loved skiing, riding off road vehicles in the desert and walking on the beach with her husband. Jacque loved family life and she became a second mom to many of her daughters’ friends and they all knew they could come to her with anything which she took great pride in. She was a compassionate, generous, and gregarious women who loved her friends and family dearly.
She is survived by her Husband of 42 years Bill, Her daughter Kelsey De Costa, daughter Heather De Costa, daughter Dena De Costa and grandchildren Kaidan and Kyra. Also her brother Thomas Cunningham, sister Debby (Joel) Adema, sister Cathy Cunningham, sister Patty (Randy) Libby, mother Ruthe Cunningham, and Dad Thomas Cunningham. She had 8 nieces and nephews and many cousins.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Oceanside. A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More on July 29, 2022 at 11:00 am and visitation will be at Allen Brothers Mortuary San Marcos Chapel from 6 pm to 8 pm. On July 28, 2022 located at 435 N. Twin Oaks Valley Rd. San Marcos, CA 92069. Flowers and condolences can be sent there on the day of the viewing.
