Joan Hurley-Giddens

Joan was an amazing mother of 5 kids, 4 boys and 1 girl, practically raised them all by herself, very much like her mother who raised her and her sister in the 30's and 40's to be strong, giving, loving women.  Joan above anything else love being a mom, always worrying about little chicks and raised her children to be decent, caring, giving human beings.

Joan was a Navy wife for 30 years and served her country well as such, standing behind the man who always seemed to be deployed at sea.  Although most of the time the family was in San Diego, one of her favorite duty stations was Hawaii, she embraced the culture, the people and the music.  Joan also had a passion for smooth jazz and attended many concerts and festivals with her family.  Her daughter and son-in-law sponsored many of the events, so she often received the royal VIP treatment and soaked up every moment.

Joan lived her life to the fullest and fought through adversity to maintain her health to do so, she had a "can do" spirit!

Mama Joan you will be dearly loved and missed by everyone, forever in our hearts, Rest in Peace.
