He was passionate about computer science, a skill he further honed in college. As a young adult he moved to Chicago to join a video game production studio, and ultimately worked within this Industry for the rest of his life. From Chicago he moved to sunny San Diego, and eventually to the Bay Area, where he met Jenny, his perfect match. They were married on May 8, 2010 in Yosemite Valley, in the same location he proposed a year prior. They enjoyed countless adventures and travels together and shortly after the birth of their twins in 2014, relocated to San Diego to be closer to family. When diagnosed with colon cancer in 2017, Joe was determined to beat the odds in order to see his children grow up. He remained brave and determined to fight, through the very end.
