Kingsley Joy Petersen, age 80, of San Diego, California passed away, peacefully, on April 23, 2024.
Kingsley was born on February 26, 1944 to Joy Clifford and Valeria Joy Petersen and grew up in a loving home with his brothers Bradley and Jeffrey in Ogden, Utah.
Kingsley served as a Navy Yeoman from 1966-1971. He graduated from Weber State College in 1970 then ventured to Saginaw, Michigan before finally settling in San Diego, California. He had careers at Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals and in the transportation industry.
Kingsley enjoyed collecting antiques, clocks, pottery/glassware, pinups, and working with wood and on his MG TD. He looked forward to Thursday night happy hour at the pool, taking pictures, making strong lasting friendships, and visits with family.
Kingsley had a knack for enjoying life and the people around him. He would always make time for a phone call from a friend, and to enjoy the moment wherever he was.
Kingsley is survived by: his brothers, Brad Petersen and Jeffrey Petersen; son, Scott Petersen; daughters, Jenni Morgan and Danae Hoekstra, and their spouses and families.
