Margaret Patricia Allen, also known as Molly Malone, resident of Pacifica Ca, passed away with family by her side, Thursday February 27, 2020. She was 80 years young. She was born an only child on January 25th, 1940; to the late Elizabeth Josephine and James Owen Malone in Santa Monica, Ca. Molly graduated from San Jose State College in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching.
Molly taught elementary school in San Diego, Ca, from 1966 to 1980. She then became a Real Estate agent for the rest of her working life. In addition to selling homes, Molly loved buying and selling antiques, and had a space in Orange County were she enjoyed staging antiques, collectibles, and small treasures. She shared the love of antiques with each of her three children throughout her life.
Molly was a loving mother, and is survived by her three children; Jason (Debra) Allen, Erin (Rich) Fry, and Derrick (Ellen) Allen. Molly was also a cherished grandmother to: Taylor Blunt, Kyra Allen, Reese Allen, Kendall Fry, Jessica Fry, Kristina (Timothy) Carlson, Rachel Allen, and Michael Allen. She was great grandmother to Melanie Carlson and Steele Blunt. She also loved her favorite furry dog companion J.J.
Molly loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to community plays with friends, had a great sense of style, and wonderful smile that could light up a room. She had an eye for beautiful jewelry, hats, and clothing, and absolutely loved to shop with family and friends. Molly's passions included: animals; especially dogs, Sangria, being outside on a beautiful day, ice cream, and collecting dolls of all shapes and sizes. She loved being by the ocean, walking along the Pacifica pier, and admiring the beautiful sun sets. Molly was very proud of her famous guacamole; which was later named Gauc-a-Molly in her honor.
A private gathering of family took place on Saturday, February 29th, 2020. The family enjoyed dinner together at one of Molly's favorite Italian restaurants in Vista Ca. Molly's ashes will be laid to rest with immediate family in Pacifica, CA on March 31, 2020.
Molly was proud to be a donor before her cremation. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Humane Society of California.
