Mary Brungardt Lynch, 100, died June 22 in San Marcos, Calif.
Born in Winona, Minn., April 14, 1925, to Edmund Brungardt and Laurenda (nee Reiland) Brungardt, Mary was raised in Lewiston, Minn. She met Dr. James L. Lynch while working at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. They married in 1945 and moved to Santa Ana, Calif., in 1948. Dr. Lynch was a dermatologist in Orange County for 40 years before retiring and moving to San Marcos. He died in 2007.
Mrs. Lynch was an active member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and the Serra Club of North County. She also was a member of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre.
Mrs. Lynch is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Patrick and Patti Lynch of Overland Park, Kan.; Peter and Katy Lynch of Sacramento; daughters and sons-in-law Laurie and the late Richard Meyer of Santa Fe, NM; Kathie and John McDonald of Winchester; and Susan and John Linnert of San Juan Capistrano; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Other survivors include her brother, Karl (the late Jean) Brungardt of North Oaks, Minn., sister Becky (James) Mannion of Brookfield, Wisc., and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial donations be made in Mrs. Lynch’s name to St. Mark’s Catholic Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
