Mary Ann Wells, 90, entered into Eternal Life with her Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on December 11, 2023, at Elite Manor Residential Care in Escondido, CA.
Mary Ann was born in Shelby, N.C. on January 16, 1933, to Buren Alston and Zennie Delphia Mode. After she graduated High School, the family moved to Lexington, N.C., where she worked at Lexington Telephone Company as an operator. In 1953, she met and married Baxter H. Ward. They were blessed with 3 children, Baxter Joel, James Buren and Glenda Jane. In 1964, Baxter & Ann moved their family and their belongings, to Arizona, in a 1951 Ford pickup due to Baxter’s health. In 1968 they moved to Julian, CA until 1971. Then moved to Escondido, CA.
In August 1980, she met William Joseph Wells, through the Bus Ministry, and on November 23, 1991, they were married, in Escondido, CA, where they lived during their marriage. She loved the Lord, and she served the Lord faithfully at Fundamental Baptist Church in many ways, until she became ill, 2021. In 2023, she lived at Elite Manor Residential Care until her death in December. During her marriage to William, she developed a love to travel, especially by ship. She also loved to read.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter, her daughter-in-law, Krista, her parents, six sisters, 2 brothers.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, William Wells of Escondido, CA, Sons Baxter Joe Ward of Temecula, CA, James Buren Ward (Sharon) of Gold Hill, OR, and Glenda Jane Valenzuela (Phil) of Valley Center, CA. Seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 sister and 2 brothers of Lexington, NC.
