Rosa Isabelle Herich

Rosa was born on August 30, 1931 to Carlos R. Lamar of Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico and Julia Perez Lamar of Monterey, Mexico.

Rosa Herich was born in Tampico, Mexico and lived most of her childhood in San Antonio, Texas. She received her BA in Math at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and her MA in Education from University of California San Diego. She has lived in Vista, CA for about 50 years and spent over 25 years teaching in the Vista Unified School District. She was part of the founding faculty at Breeze Hill in Vista, CA teaching the Bilingual Component for 2nd grade beginning in 1992 and retired at 69 years. Prior to teaching at Breeze Hill, Rosa taught at Bobier and Monte Vista schools in Vista.

Rosa was well respected by all who knew her as an outstanding bilingual teacher. She was loved by her students, their families, her colleagues, and friends for her compassion and dedication to her teaching career. After Rosa retired, she volunteered countless hours to her church helping with families in need. Her big heart and unconditional love for family and friends will always be remembered.

She is survived by her sons Emil, John and Charles, and his wife Annette.
