Rose Joolingen Obituary

Rose Joolingen (nee Chindamo), 88, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2021, at her residence in Carlsbad, California. She was born February 8, 1933 in Queens, New York to Francesco and Lucia (Grace) Chindamo (nee Colace). Rose was the only love and beloved wife for 57 years to her late husband, William Joolingen, 80. The day of her passing marked the day of the 12th anniversary of William’s passing, so we know they are reunited in heaven once again. They were married October 14, 1951 and built a life together on  Long Island, New York and later San Diego, California. Together they raised three children, William (Jeanne), Francine, and Terry (Robert), who gave them 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Rose, also lovingly called Rosie or Nana, was a devoted stay at home mother and grandmother, who was full of love for her family. She was often seen grabbing the faces and ears of her grandchildren for kisses, or laying out good snacks to eat! She traveled the world with her husband William (PopPop), and she shared that passion with her children and grandchildren, taking them on many special trips. She had a deep appreciation for good food, tying back to her Italian roots, and made many memorable meals for her family.

Rose was a warm and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and she will be deeply missed by her family. It is because of Nana and PopPop, that many beautiful families were brought into existence, and we owe it all to them. They leave behind countless memories filled with joy, love and laughter, and we will forever hold them in our hearts.
