Ruth Josephine Larson

Ruth J. Larson, 87, of Bonsall, passed away on Jan 13, 2025.
Ruth was born in Schweinfurt, Germany in 1937, the 2nd of two children born to Hugo and Berta Hess.  After World War II Ruth completed her schooling in Germany before immigrating to the U.S. in 1956, three years after her older sister had immigrated.  She settled in Newark, N. J.  and worked at a legal firm for two years prior to moving west to Eugene, Oregon, where she worked as a receptionist at a  legal firm.  It was there that she met Robert (Bob) Larson, a student at the U. of Oregon.  They were married in October, 1959 and moved to Vancouver, WA in 1960 where she worked at a legal firm while Bob taught mathematics at a high school.  Two children were born to them and in 1965 they moved to Vista, CA where Bob was employed as a staff counselor at Palomar Community College.  Ruth stayed at home to raise the children until the younger was in high school when she once again joined the work force as a bank employee.  She worked in New Accounts as a Financial Advisor until 2002,  when she retired.  
Ruth was the consummate wife and mother,  devoting her entire adult life to her family.  A quiet and unassuming person, her greatest joys and pleasures were when she was preparing for a family celebration of a holiday, birthday, or other special occasion and was surrounded by her family.  Even as her health began to decline from dementia she never stopped showing her love and affection for family. 
Her dementia  gradually worsened and in March 2024 she entered a Residential Care Facility for Memory Care in  Bonsall,  where she was living at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ingrid, in 2021,  and is survived by her husband, Bob, of 65  years, of Bonsall, daughter Kirsten Larson and her partner, Gale Whitaker, of La Mesa, CA, son Gregory Larson of San Marcos CA, and nephew James Muller of Henderson, NV.  At her request, no services are planned.
