Having lived a long full life, Shirley peacefully passed away on September 1, 2024, at the age of 95. She met and married the lover of her life, Victor, at the age of 20. They shared 50 years together, raising three children in Riverside, California. As a devoted wife and mother, she was both strong and proud of her family.
As a perfectionist, she lived the motto, "If something is worth doing, do it right", which was evidenced in the many beautiful, cherished baby blankets knitted, needlepoints stitched, and numerous memory bears made as a volunteer for hospice. She baked unforgettable delicious cakes, sewed her daughter's intricate wedding gowns, grew prize winning orchids, and could whip up a meal when it looked like nothing was in the kitchen. She created a warm and inviting home filled with multiple loved dogs and birds. It was a home where all of her children's friends were welcomed and continued to visit her in their adult lives.
She understood the value of being true to oneself and carried the torch of being unapologetically herself high! She loved life and lived it with gusto, seeking out the next adventure and party. Her quick wit and easy unbridled laughter leaves us with many treasured memories, and with a room that now feels empty. Her journey has ended, her bucket list complete. She will join our father buried at Riverside National Cemetery.
