Timothy Paul Kornacki
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy Paul Kornacki, with his family by his side, on January 24, 2026.
Tim was born on April 27, 1971, in Chicago, Illinois, to Bernadette Marie Butkiewicz and Dennis James Kornacki. He was the eldest of four children: Matt, Gabe, and Jessica. An involved and attentive brother, Tim coached his siblings’ sports teams and drove carpools without hesitation. He graduated from Marana High School in Tucson, Arizona, where he played football, tennis, and baseball.
Tim attended the University of Arizona to study nursing, where he met the love of his life, Shannon. Tim and Shannon married in 1997 and raised their two children, Chase and Landen, first in Tucson and later in San Diego.
For Tim, family always came first. He cherished time spent with his family, whether coaching Landen’s baseball teams, performing with Chase at dance recitals, or playing board games and pickleball. Nothing made him happier than bragging about his children and their accomplishments. He had a gift for making others laugh and will be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him and for his kind heart.
Tim worked as a registered nurse for 30 years and truly loved his profession. He was dedicated to caring for others and made a lasting difference in the lives of countless patients and colleagues. A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan who grew to love the Padres, Tim shared his passion for baseball with everyone. Throughout his cancer treatments, he relied on his strong faith and the support of his loving family and friends.
Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Shannon; his children, Chase and Landen; his mother, Bernadette Schott; his siblings, Matthew and Heidi Kornacki, Gabriel and Milanda Kornacki, and Jessica and Rob Jacinto; his Godmother, Mary Ann Vaughan; his Godfather, Jerry Butkiewicz; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews, family members, and close friends.
He is deeply missed and forever loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Church at Rancho Bernardo (11740 Bernardo Plaza Ct, San Diego, CA 92128) on Monday, March 23, at 11:00 am.
