VERA ARCADY CARLSEN

Passionate collector of Hallmark ornaments and character dolls, along with Vera Arcady Carlsen’s greatest love as a mother and grandmother was the essence of life. Vera passed away on March 31, 2022 in San Diego, California at the age of 90. She loved cooking traditional Russian dishes with her family and friends. Her home was filled with collectibles from holiday ornaments, Hummel figurines, M&Ms characters, to a favorite pastime love of Disney Goofy dolls. Since a young girl Vera was an avid reader of mysteries, thrillers and historical novels.

She was born to Arcady and Ruth Imnadze on June 16, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan. After residing in Pennsylvania and moving to St. Paul, Minnesota she met Donald Carlsen, they married and celebrated over fifty years together before his death. They raised two daughters in Minnesota and retired in California. Vera is survived by daughters and their spouses Suzan and David Yeager, Lillian and Brian McCleary; Sister Irene Scott; foster daughter Roxie Croner; grandchildren Jason Yeager, Michael Yeager, Daniel Sugino, Katelyn Sugino; seven great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for 2:00pm on April 27, 2022 at the Allen Brothers Chapel, 1315 S. Santa Fe Avenue, Vista, California. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association on her behalf.
