Vivian Alice Leverenz Selenak Hanan
Vivian A. Hanan went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 1, 2021, at Palomar Vista Healthcare Center in Escondido, CA. She was born on February 21, 1929, in Chicago, IL. In 1947, she was married to Charles Raymond Selenak, and one daughter, Valerie, and two sons, Charles Michael and Daniel Paul, were born to that union. Charles died in 1959 and in 1978, she married Leon Hanan, who died in 1992.
Vivian graduated from Tully High School in Chicago and moved to southern California in 1950, spending most of her years in Norwalk. Vivian spent her free time reading every book she picked up, spending time with her family, playing games, and talking to people. Known for her kind, loving, and generous personality, Vivian never missed a chance to meet a new friend, and before the conversation was over, she would ask them if they knew the Lord. Vivian was a strong woman and strong in her faith, she attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Norwalk, CA.
Vivian leaves behind her daughter, Valerie H. West, and two sons, Charles M. Selenak (wife Molly) and Daniel Selenak (wife Evelyn); along with 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John D. Leverenz Sr. and Helen Estrada, brother John D. Leverenz Jr., sister Dorothy Grezeskowiak, a grandson Timothy Selenak; and husbands Charles R. Selenak and Leon Hanan.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norwalk, followed by internment at Little Lake Cemetery in Norwalk, CA.
