You will need documentation to verify military service. You will need to provide Form DD214 and/or an equivalent before any Veterans services can be provided. Request a copy of your DD214 from the Veterans Administration.
Military Funeral Honors ceremonies must be scheduled in advance but cannot be scheduled before a death has occurred. Our Allen Brothers staff will coordinate all arrangements for our families.
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits do NOT cover all the funeral or cremation arrangements of honorably discharged veterans.
Veteran's caskets and/or urns are NOT free, unless death occurs while on active duty.
If you choose to NOT be buried in a VA national cemetery, some monetary burial benefits are generally available but substantially limited, if the veteran meets all the requirements.
When burial or memorialization is in a national cemetery, a headstone or marker will be ordered by the cemetery officials based on inscription information provided by the next of kin or authorized representative.
